Endorsed (Eligible) Midwife Suzanne gained her qualifications in the UK as a Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife. Suzanne consolidated her training by working for 17 years at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital, covering all areas of the Maternity Unit. She has a passion for teaching, studying her first 'Teaching in the
Clinical Area' at Oxford Brookes University.
Following the birth of her second child, Suzanne returned back to her studies and gained a qualification in 'Fertility and Sexual Health', upon which she opened a contraception and sexual health clinic at a secondary college, which became very popular with the students.
In 2008, Suzanne and her family moved to Australia, where she worked in the Maternity & Woman's Health Unit of Sydney Adventist Hospital for 14 years. In this time she earned immense respect from the team for her leadership in midwifery practice, and continued to extend her studies at Avondale College with a qualification in 'Teaching in the Practical Setting', resulting in being awarded the title of 'Clinical Midwifery Specialist'.
At the start of COVID, life changed for everybody. With her husband and children working and studying from home, Suzanne took the decision to become an Endorsed (Eligible) Midwife, gaining the qualification 'Prescribing for Midwives' through Griffith University. This has enabled her to become one of a few Endorsed (Eligible) Midwives on the NSW register.
Dr. Lisa & Suzanne have worked together for eight years. They have now formed a Collaborative Agreement to offer women wishing to deliver at a Public or Private Hospital in their catchment area, an alternative Model of Care, which we call 'CHERISH' that includes antenatal care, postnatal care & breastfeeding and lactation services
