CHERISH
‘Women who receive continuity of care are more likely to have effective care, a better experience and improved clinical outcomes’(Sandall. 2017)
'CHERISH' incorporates the core values of 'Woman-Centred-Care'.
Safety: Our aim is for all women to receive information that is individualised, appropriate and is safe current and high quality.
Respect: Through-out, we will treat all our women with dignity and respect, which will encompass her needs, holistically; physical, emotional, spiritual and culturally fulfilling.
Choice: Women's choices and preferences will be sought and respected throughout her care, supporting her to make informed decisions.
Access: Women will have 'Continuity of Carer', flexible appointments that are less disruptive to their daily family life, and access to mental health information and support.
The 'CHERISH' Programme Some of the benefits to you:
Flexible Appointments: Our aim is to offer our women appointments that 'fit in' both the woman and her partner, to reduce the disruption to their daily lives/ work schedule. (out of business hours, if required.
Waiting times: We understand that life is busy, trying to juggle jobs and appointments. We will endeavour to work towards the appointment time you have made, to avoid any undue disruption. No waiting around in busy antenatal clinics.
Communication: Appointments with the same care giver, will avoid fragmented information, working with you respecting your preferences throughout your care. We will endeavour to support you to make informed decisions.
Access: Women will have advice on where to access other Health Professionals, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Mental health, Birth Classes etc for complete holistic care and support.
Early First Appointment: your first appointment can be as early as 8 week gestation.
High Quality Continuity of Care: Your care is in collaboration with Suzanne John-Endorsed Midwife and Consultant Obstetrician Dr Lisa Robinson. Both highly experienced Health Professionals. High quality care, advice and respectful communication.
Postnatal Follow-up: 1-2 Home visits, although some ladies might require more, this will be assessed and individualised to your needs.
Fees: Come and talk to Northern Beaches Midwifery. Your first appointment is covered by Medicare with No Gap. Our full schedule of fees will be discussed with you during your first appointment.
